Several other large airports saw a tremendous amount of growth before the pandemic including Boston, Los Angeles, and Seattle/Tacoma. Now Austin is on that list and is near the top.

Many large businesses like Amazon and Google have put offices and campuses in the greater Austin metropolitan area which has caused airlines like Delta and American to start offering more routes outside of their usual “hub to spoke” ones.

On top of this, airlines like Spirit entered the market in 2019 and now serve over a dozen destinations from the city.

JetBlue also recently began flying point-to-point flights from the city including Cancún, San Francisco, and Raleigh/Durham.
