Not seeing this available anymore nor seeing it posted for people’s enjoyment, I am uploading this video as a tribute to friend and fellow railroader William Harmon, a Santa Fe Conductor out of Cleburne, Texas who mostly worked at the end of his career, in the Cleburne Yard and on the Venus Sub. Bill made quite a few excellent VHS videos of trains (especially for the day) and I think I bought most of them from him and he gifted me several others. I think later he might have done them in DVD, but I only ever had the old VHS tapes, with through the years suffered from deterioration from age and from the horrific storage conditions that I subjected them to. Regardless, It’s a great look at the Austin * Northwestern Railroad and it’s motive power at the time, a year or two after my stint working on the AUNW, from it;s startup until around 1989/1990.

If you can find the old tapes or DVDs for sale, BUY THEM! They were all well done with good narration and history given, a lot of the latter provide by Santa Fe Engineer C.C. Bobo from Brownwood. This poor clip of mine will hopefully introduce many more people to Bill’s work and some great recordings of railroading circa the late 1980s and early 1990s. Thanks for watching
