Democratic presidential candidate and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders held a campaign rally in Austin on Sunday, ahead of the Texas Democratic party caucus, taking place on ‘Super Tuesday’ on March 3.

Over 12,000 supporters came out to pack the fields at the Vic Mathias Shores at Lady Bird Lake Metro Park to hear the US presidential hopeful rally the crowd before Super Tuesday.

“The American people, no matter what your political view may be, understand we cannot have a president who is a racist, who is a sexist, who is a homophobe, who is a xenophobe, who is a religious bigot, and those are some of his better qualities,” stated Sanders.

“We beat Trump in Michigan, we beat Trump in Wisconsin, we beat Trump in Pennsylvania, and you know what? We’re going to beat him here in Texas,” said Bernie Sanders, adding that “this is the most consequential election in the modern history of our country.”

“This is a campaign of the working class of America, by the working class of America and for the world class of America,” the Vermont Senator added.
