This is a the first test I do when looking at a dog for protection or nose work. It is important that the dog has drive for his toy. At the end I do a short “hunt drive” test. It so important for dogs doing nose work or going in to SAR(search and recuse.) I often have people ask me if their dog is capable of such work. I recommend to watch this video so they understand what I mean by prey/toy drive. Something important to understand is this dog has this drive genetically. We can build drive, however most of it is already there.
