MassChallenge has selected 58 startups for its 2020 local cohort from Austin and Houston. Additionally, it added two new track programs, this year: SportsTech and Space Commercialization.MassChallenge is a Boston-based startup accelerator that moved to Texas in 2017. The orientation program consisted of leaders speaking about the program which was conducted via video conference. The participating startups will receive six-month of free office space, access to industry experts, and mentors, The winners of Austin will receive cash prizes of 0,000 and those selected for the Houston program will compete for 0,000.The program will kick start in June and will run through September. The finalists will be selected by the end of May. The accelerator expects to ramp up the number of startups accepted to each cohort to up to 60 by 2024.
