Looking for Things to Do in Texas? Traveling on a budget, looking for camping, or just want ideas on what to do and where to go? In this video, we’ll give you Texas from our perspective. We recently traveled through and learned all about the highlights and the low lights. We do off-grid camping, so we’ll talk about where to camp in Texas, especially options for free camping. We had a lot of fun, despite the real lack of public land space. Big Bend National Park was certainly a highlight and while we typically advocate for free things to do in the places we travel, Big Bend is totally worth your travels! We had the joy of a springtime desert bloom. Outside of the park, public lands and places to camp or sleep for free were sparse. So, we’ll talk about rest stops, lakeside camping spots, and rivers we found to sleep by. Texas is a fossil haven, too. So, if you like rockhounding and geology, this is a MUST! All this and more in this edition of our travel updates & advice – TEXAS edition!

Film director and Moody College of Communication alumnus Robert Rodriguez revealed a worldwide green screen film making challenge to students enrolled in The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-Television-Film at South by Southwest on March 15, 2013.

To complete the film, Rodriguez needs actors, writers and artists to contribute digital footage or graphic design to each of the three acts. For more information on how to participate in the Keep Moving short film contest, visit keepmoving.blackberry.com/desktop/en/us/ambassador/robert-rodriguez.html.

In an intimate discussion closed to the public with RTF faculty member Charles Ramirez Berg, Rodriguez said he wanted to share the contest with students from his alma mater first and gave solid direction on how to launch a career in film.
